This week, Denso, the world’s second-largest
mobility supplier, is opening a new distribution center in
Jeffersonville, Indiana. The facility will advance the
company’s North America distribution optimization strategy, helping to
reduce transit times and enhance operations, including management,
control and execution.
The facility is expected to be fully operational by Summer
2019, and leverage IoT technologies and new safety initiatives to
improve the service Desno provides.
The company is investing approximately US$10mn to lease and
equip the new center in Jeffersonville. $3mn is earmarked for the
purchase of technology, such as warehouse management software to control
inventory, optimize supply chain management and enhance customer
service. Hiring is underway to add up to 50 new full-time jobs,
including warehouse, management and administrative positions.
